With deteriorating roads and more students whose homes are scattered around Arusha, we need durable, hardworking buses that can handle rough terrain and get our students safely to and from school. The “colobus” bus, which is a type of monkey, will have the energetic and clever creatures painted on it by St Jude’s very own students.

Cooking for so many students in a developing country has challenges. One of these challenges is frequent water shortages which can result in unwanted germs. A hot water heater assists by ensuring kitchens are more hygienic and water is used more efficiently. It will also reduce the amount of wood currently used to boil water, therefore benefiting the environment.

Most students would have to travel for hours by foot if they didn’t have a school bus. So having safe transport is vital! With flamingos painted on it by our students, the 29 seater bus will be beautiful and easy to identify. This bus will carry students between the poorest neighborhoods and school for years to come.

It also includes cupboards, study areas and running water for a secure home. This boarding house will create 72 additional beds for our students, of which 24 will be on your level.
