St Jude’s Inaugural Interschool Cultural Competition

The School of St Jude warmly invites you to our inaugural Interschool Cultural Competition.

If you are a talented singer, dancer, artist, or musical group then we’d love to hear from you! Our Interschool Cultural Competition wishes to merge student’s creative passions with the traditions of African music and art. With lunch on the day, cash prizes to be won and incredible performances to witness, we look forward to seeing you at this exciting event! 

Competition date: 4th September, 2023
Location: The School of St Jude, Sisia Campus
Entry closes: 17th July, 2023 at 5 pm

Enter any of our 5 competitions below, each with 4 age groups to choose from. Shortlisted entrants will be contacted by phone in August.

  • Solo Acapella Singing Competition
    • Perform a 2 minute English OR Swahili song, no instruments! 
  • Art Painting and Drawing Competition
    • You will be given 5 hours to create your own piece of artwork to this years theme of African animals! 
  • Traditional Instrument Band Competition
    • Get together up to 10 musicians and create a 2 minute performance with traditional African instruments only! 
  • Tradition Dance Group Competition
    • Organise a group of up to 10 dancers and create a dance performance based on any traditional tribal dance! 
  • Traditional Singing Group Competition
    • Gather a group of up to 10 singers and create a performance of a traditional song OR an old church hymn!
