O’Connor Primary School’s ongoing partnership with the School of St Jude in Tanzania was put in full focus during a recent visit from a St Jude’s staff member.

For the past two years OPS teachers have been sponsoring teachers working at the school, which provides quality education for children living in poverty.

The decision to support St Jude came after principal Steve Delfs visited the school during a trip to Africa in 2012.

It costs between $600 and $700 a year to sponsor a teacher, which covers their wages and a few extras.

Last week the school received a visit from one of the St Jude visitor centre administrators, Felix Mollel, who spoke to the children about his country and his school.
