The School of St Jude is a charity-funded international non-governmental organization (iNGO) that provides free, quality education to 1,800 primary and secondary students from the poorest communities in Arusha and surrounding regions.
As our school continues to grow rapidly, we welcome dedicated volunteers to join our team in Arusha, Tanzania. We are currently looking for short-term volunteers to join our Health Check team in February 2026. Successful applicants will be part of a team of international and local health professionals who will conduct health screening of our students and identify those who may have health and wellbeing problems that could hinder their ability to learn and achieve their full potential and provide appropriate advice and support to them, their parents and the school.
As a member of the Health Check team, you will work closely with the Team Leader, Community Relations Manager, Community Relations Team Lead, and Health and Welfare Assistant Team Lead to conduct comprehensive health checks. This includes:

St Jude's is located in Arusha, a town that serves as the gateway to popular East African national parks and game reserves such as Ngorongoro Crater, the vast plains of Serengeti, Lake Manyara, Tarangire, and Arusha National Park. It is also near Mt. Kilimanjaro—the largest free-standing mountain in the world. You'll have the opportunity to experience the breathtaking beauty of Africa before or after your volunteer period at the school.
