The future isn’t something we wait for – it’s something we create

In Tanzania, seven out of 10 high school-aged children are not enrolled in secondary school. At The School of St Jude, we empower students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to dream big and reimagine a future filled with endless possibilities. Our holistic approach to education nurtures every aspect of a student’s development - encouraging critical thinking, creative expression and entrepreneurial spirit.

Through our programs, students have the opportunity to explore their individual talents, broaden their horizons and reimagine what’s possible - for themselves, their communities and their country. Your support turns this vision into a reality.

Every donation given between June 5 – 10 will be matched up to $250,000, thanks to the support of a generous donor. That means, if you donate $100 it doubles to $200.

Will you help our students reimagine what their futures can be?

Meet Nadia

In today’s globalised world, we know the value of language so all our classes and communication at school are in English. Our ESL program further develops their verbal and written skills so they can confidently explore and pursue diverse careers and lead meaningful change in their communities.

For graduates like Nadia, that journey began the moment she walked through the school gates. Now in her final year of a Bachelor of Nursing and Midwifery, Nadia is giving back to her community as a nurse and midwife, currently completing her internship at Mount Meru Hospital in Arusha.

The ESL program at St Jude’s equipped Nadia with the communication skills to work alongside international doctors and advocate for her patients. Thanks to the holistic education she received, Nadia has reimagined a brighter future for herself, her patients and her community.

Meet Robert

St Jude’s has always been a place where young minds are nurtured and bold ideas are born. However, turning a passion into a sustainable business is no easy task. To help bridge this gap, we recently launched the Next Frontier Incubator and Small Grants Program to help our school alumni transform their entrepreneurial dreams into thriving business ventures.

Robert is one of the first to take part. During his time at the school, Robert and his friend and classmate, Boniphace developed a time-saving vegetable grater that won the 2023 St Jude’s Science Day. Their design is already in use in the school kitchen, helping streamline preparation time. Now, with support from the Next Frontier Incubator and Small Grants Program, they’re working to develop it into a scalable product to sell and benefit community kitchens like schools and hospitals that need to prepare and serve nutritious meals on a large scale.

Meet Amani

At St Jude’s, we believe that nurturing creativity is essential to developing well-rounded, empowered students. Since the launch of our Student Art Program in 2022, art has become a vital part of our holistic approach to education. It helps students think differently, unlock their imagination, opening the door to fresh ways of problem-solving – both in the classroom and in their everyday lives.

Amani, a 2024 Form 6 graduate, is one of the many talented artists who has honed his talent to explore his creativity through the program. He discovered a passion and ability for art during his time at St Jude’s, finding that creative expression enriched his academic experience. Now, through the Community Service Year (CSY) Program, Amani is giving back - volunteering to mentor young students and providing support in the school’s art gallery. With a full scholarship to study medicine ahead of him, his story is a powerful reminder that academic achievement and artistic growth can go hand in hand.
