When you sponsor an academic scholarship for a St Jude’s student or graduate you are helping to fund their education.
Sponsorship provides a St Jude’s student with educational materials, school and boarding uniforms, hot nutritious meals and a safe, clean living environment with reliable electricity and water – everything required for a successful education!
Sponsorship of a Community Service volunteer or Beyond St Jude's scholar covers tuition fees, learning resources and living expenses, to help them begin their lives outside of school.
As a sponsor, you will receive regular updates from St Jude’s including academic updates, photos and personalised letters. You can even write to them in return!
You can choose to become a sole sponsor, co-sponsor or shared sponsor.
St Jude’s secondary graduates are eligible to apply for the Beyond St Jude’s Program (BSJ). The first year of the program, called the Community Service Year (CSY) is spent volunteering their services, either as a teacher in a government school, or around the St Jude’s campus.
Your sponsorship gives a stipend which covers a volunteer’s accommodation, transport and daily expenses as they share the fruits of their free, quality education with the community.
Help us further our impact by sponsoring the full amount of a volunteer’s stipend during their Community Service Year (CSY). Your sponsorship covers their accommodation costs, transport and living expenses as they give back in appreciation of the free education they received.
A sole sponsorship covers 100% of a graduate's stipend.
Support a volunteer by sponsoring half the amount of their stipend during their Community Servive Year (CSY). Your sponsorship will help to cover accommodation costs, transport and living expenses as they volunteer in government schools or around St Jude’s campuses.
A co-sponsorship covers 50% of a graduate's stipend.
Provide higher education to a BSJ scholar and help them become one of Tanzania’s future leaders by sponsoring the full amount of their scholarship. Your sponsorship will cover the cost of tuition and exam fees, accommodation, learning resources and living expenses.
A sole-sponsorship covers 100% of a scholar's expenses.
Cover half the cost of higher education for BSJ scholar studying in Tanzania by becoming a co-sponsor of their scholarship. Your sponsorship contributes to the cost of their tuition and exam fees, accommodation, learning resources and living expenses.
A co-sponsorship covers 50% of a scholar's expenses.
St Jude's offers alternatives for those who aren't able to sponsor
Not everyone can commit to sponsoring an academic scholarship – and that’s ok! If you can’t sponsor but still want to contribute, consider making a donation. You can make a monthly recurring donation, or simply make a once-off contribution.
Any contribution helps St Jude’s provide free, quality education.
