I got so excited when I chose to draw the picture of my favourite subject, African Women, my culture. I proudly chose to draw the three strong African Women because I feel that I was so lucky to be born as an African Lady.

The painting I drew also shows how African women are caretakers, hard workers, responsible, kind and dreamers. They are determined to fight for their tomorrow because they are the change makers.

About the Artwork and Artist

Zulpha joined The School of St Jude in 2020 at age 15

She is part of the Mpare people who are indigenous to the Pare Mountains of Tanzania, southeast of Mt Kilimanjaro. Historically, they were also known as 'rainmakers'.

Zulpha loves art lessons and computer studies.
