Create lifelong family memories

Share an unforgettable journey with your family

Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime family adventure in Tanzania, filled with learning, laughter and unforgettable memories. Together, you and your child will explore education, sport, culture, art and food, and you might even spot some wildlife.

For more than 20 years, The School of St Jude has safely welcomed over 1,100 visitors from around the world each year. Our experienced team, including staff and alumni, will be with you from the moment we greet you at the airport until we drop you back at the end of your stay. You will be well looked after, well fed and comfortably accommodated, giving you peace of mind to enjoy every moment.

You will join other families to connect, share stories and build friendships while enjoying activities such as:

  • Joining students in art or music classes
  • Playing sports on our school fields
  • Cooking and enjoying local dishes
  • Visiting government schools
  • Reading with students in the library
  • Stepping into students’ homes
  • Q&A with Gemma
  • Maasai Boma visit
You will stay at either Sisia Campus, home to our primary and girls’ secondary schools, or Smith Campus, home to St Jude’s Secondary School. Some families experience both.

In 2026, we are hosting three Parents and Cubs Shared Journeys. This is more than a trip. It is a chance to see first-hand how a St Jude’s scholarship transforms lives and how education is helping to fight poverty in Tanzania. There is something for everyone

Your questions answered...

How do we get to Arusha, Tanzania?
We know everyone has their favourite airlines and you will be travelling from multiple airports so we ask you to manage your own flights and once you have ticket details, you let us know.

The nearest international airport is Kilimanjaro which is about 45+minutes’ drive from the school. One of our Visitors team members will meet you at the airport and you will be transferred directly to the school on one of our school buses.

You can do this by emailing us at Visitor@schoolofstjude.co.tz when you are planning your stay.

The nearest domestic airport is Arusha Airport, and this is about 30+ minutes’ drive away from the school. Again, one of our Visitors team will meet you at the airport and you will be transferred directly to the school on one of our school buses.
What style of accommodation is available at the school?
We offer motel-style accommodation at The School of St Jude.

We have two accommodation areas at St Jude’s, and both have private twin share rooms and common areas so you can relax during your stay. Your room is ensuite, with a hot shower and flushing toilet.

One accommodation site is at Sisia Campus, the original campus, where our primary school and girls’ secondary school is located. The other accommodation is at Smith Campus, in nearby Usa River, where our secondary school is located.
How safe is it at The School of St Jude?
During your visit to the School of St Jude, your safety is our number one priority. The School of St Jude is located within a gated community, surrounded by walls across the whole premises.

To further create a safe environment for your visit, School Security Officers patrol the gated community 24 hours a day.

If you have any queries during your visit, the Visitors Centre has an office located within the school’s premises.

The Visitors Centre can be contacted on Tel: +255 758 305 776 or +255 787 719 500 at all times to further assist with any queries.
