For many young alumni, moving into the professional world brings both excitement and uncertainty. That’s exactly how St Jude’s university graduates felt as they participated in the 2025 Alumni Workshop, a three-day intensive program designed to equip them with the skills, confidence and connections needed to navigate their career journeys. Participants immersed themselves in sessions that combined practical learning with real-world application.

Workshop highlights
During theCV & Cover Letter Mastery, attendees learned how to craft compelling applications that stand out to employers, including tips on structure, keywords and tailoring for specific roles. They also explored ways to highlight achievements effectively.
The most valuable part of the Interview Preparation and Practice was the STAR method. STAR stands for Situation, Task, Action and Result. You briefly describe the situation you faced, explain the task or challenge, outline the actions you took and finish with the result or outcome. Using this method helps you provide clear, concise and compelling examples that showcase your skills and achievements.
Participants thoroughly enjoyed the Financial Literacy session, with many expressing eagerness for more.
“I truly enjoyed the financial literacy session. It inspired me to explore more advanced topics like investing and retirement planning,” says Mariam (’20).
Moving forward, the Alumni team is committed to building on the success of this year’s program and exploring ways to make future workshops even more impactful.
