Meet my painting, I wanted to show how awesome gorillas are. They're big, with strong chests and hands, kind of like humans. And even though they're so big, they're herbivores, which means they eat plants.
The gorilla in my painting is striking a pose that shows off its cleverness, which is why I named it 'Smart Gorilla. I hope you find gorillas as amazing as I do!

~ DenisDenis joined The School of St Jude in 2014 at age 8. He is Mandawe, part of an agricuitural ethnic group based in the Dodoma Region of central Tanzania.
The Sandawe language is tonal and uses clicks, similar to the Khoe language of southern Africa.
Hoping to one day become an architect, Denis has excelled at art, geography and mathematics during his time at St Jude's.
